High Achievements

The Ipswich & District Athletic Club Inc was

established in 1978.

The Club boasts over that time many athletes of an extremely

high standard.

A recent project was to go back through all available results to 1978 to establish official Club Records.

Record acceptance criteria included :-

Athlete must have been registered with the Club and therefore Queensland Athletics when the performance was set
Athlete must have been registered with the Club and therefore Queensland Athletics when the performance was set Age has been calculated as age on the day of the performance
Schools results (both secondary and primary) are not included
Unless results indicated otherwise, throws weights and hurdle specifications used are those detailed in the Handbook for the season in which the performance was set. In those years when a Handbook was not available, specifications used are those from the closest yearly Handbook
To maintain consistency (as details in the early years were rather sketchy), all performances have been credited to the age of the athlete on the day, not to the Grade or Age Group in which the performance was set. For example, if a performance was set in an Open competition but the athlete was actually U18 on the day, the record has been included in the U18 section
To take account of those instances where an underage athlete may have the best overall Club performance in an event, a Best on Record section has been included at the end of the Club Record
